The food we eat must be modified so it can by absorbed and used in the repair and construction of cells, for energy, and for ALL the other functions of our body. The digestive tract is actually a long, unbroken tube from mouth to rectum. Its job can be simply defined as "Keeping Out What's Supposed to Be Out, and Allowing in What Should be Allowed in". To accomplish this, a number of different structures, organs, digestive juices and hormonal control mechanisms are required.
ORAL CAVITY:
Chewing properly is
important because it breaks up the food fibers and mixes them with water,
salivary amylase and lingual lipase.
DIGESTION IN THE STOMACH:
Protein digestion in the
stomach is begun by the enzyme pepsin, initially produced as pepsinogen.
Pepsinogen is released from chief cells which line the stomach and is converted
to pepsin in the presence of hydrochloric acid.
SMALL INTESTINE:
The majority of digestion
and absorption takes place in the duodenum, the first portion of the small
intestine. The pancreas and the liver a key organs influencing digestion
in the small intestine, producing pancreatic enzymes and bile. Pancreatic
enzymes include 1) Protease 2) Lipase 3) Amylase. Proteases for digestion
of protein are 1) Trypsin 2) Carboxypeptidases 3) Chymotrypsin 4) Aminopeptidase.
Proteases and Amylase breaks starches into simple sugar. Proteases, Amylase,
Lipase participates in the digestion of ultimate absorption of fat.
LIVER AND GALL BLADDER:
Bile is produced in the
liver and stored in the gall bladder. Bile participates in fat digestion
and absorption along with lipase. Your health is a function of not so much
what you eat, but what you are ABLE to assimilate and use.
LEAKY GUT SYNDROME:
It used to be believed
that protein was completely digested (down to amino acid size) and that
absorption of molecules larger than single amino acids was rare.
Increased absorption of large protein molecules has been linked to a number
of health problems, ranging from food allergies to autoimmune disease.
ENZYMES AND THEIR SUBSTRATES:
| Amylase - Carbohydrates | Lactase - Lactose |
| Protease - Protein | Cellulase - Cellulose |
| Peptidase - Peptides | Maltase - Maltose |
| Lipase - Fats | Invertase - Sucrose |
| WHY ARE DIGESTIVE ENZYMES
IMPORTANT?
1. Help conserve the human body's enzyme reserves. 2. Help clean up the bloodstream. 3. Improves the digestion of foods you eat (raw/cooked). 4. The key factor that determines the effectiveness of how your body functions. WHAT IS THE SOURCE OF
THE GOOD DIGESTIVE ENZYMES?

Active Digestive Enzymes |
WHAT IS GOOD DIGESTIVE
ENZYME FORMULATION AND WHY?
* Approximately 95% of
the food we eat is composed of protein, carbohydrates and fats.
* Has substantial amounts
of protease, amylase and lipase with high activity & potency
* Made from plant enzymes
instead of animal based enzymes.
WHY ARE PLANT ENZYMES
BETTER FOR THE HUMAN BODY THAN ANIMAL ENZYMES?
Animal Enzymes work in
a very narrow pH range, They work to a limited degree in the stomach and
small intestines. They do not do anything for digestion in the upper
part of the stomach and they are inactive when pH is too high. Plant Enzymes
are much more effective in the pH and temperature ranges of the body.
They help digest the cooked and raw foods in the upper part of the stomach.
Plant enzymes help decrease and conserve the digestive enzyme secretion
from the body needed for digestion.
COOKING OUR FOOD DESTROYS
ALL ENZYMES AT TEMPERATURES OVER 118 DEGREES F.
Consuming a diet of less
than 60% raw food ultimately leads to enzyme deficiency.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE
EAT COOKED AND PROCESSED FOOD WITHOUT TAKING DIGESTIVE ENZYMES?
The stomach must work
much harder. The pancreas must produce twice as many enzymes as it was
designed to do. Doing this year after year puts a tremendous stain
on the stomach and pancreas. It also stresses or burdens
our immune system and
metabolic enzyme supply.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS
OF TAKING A GOOD DIGESTIVE ENZYME PRODUCT ON AN EMPTY STOMACH?
High amounts of digestive
enzymes will help all of the following in the bloodstream:
* Stimulates the immune
system
* Breaking up cholesterol
deposits
* Reduce bacteria
* Increase Energy
* Raise T-cell activity
and production
